Diana Vickers

The blonde singer who charmed all on the X Factor last year especially when she lost her voice and was able to miss a week has found critical acclaim in the west end show, Little Voice.

In the role made famous by Jane Horrocks, Diana plays the troubled lead character Laura who is unableto interact with the world until she discovers she can sing and develops her skill by impersonating various artists. Vickers has to sing in the style of Shirley Bassey, Edith Piaf, Dusty Springfield as well as other torch singing Divas. It would appear to be perfect casting and audiences at the Vaudeville Theatre in London seem to agree.

Her debut album is still awaiting release and will now be put back as a result of her performances in the show.

When asked if her future was in acting or in the music studio she replied that she would love a mix of the two, " after all I am only eighteen, I ve got time".

It is hard to believe that the fragile looking northerner is still only 18 as she beats out Shirley Bassey classics
