Louis Walsh
Louis was born Michael Louis Vincent but goes by the name Louis Walsh, he began is career in music management in 1980 when he convinced Johnny Logan to enter the Eurovision Song Contest, Logan went on to win and his debut album sold over 500,000 copies in the first week of its release.
Louis then wanted to create an Irish version of the boy band Take That, he had open auditions and eventually created the band that is known as Boyzone, who under his management went on to have six number one singles and four number one albums selling over 12 million copies worldwide, when Boyzone split he carried on managing the main singer Ronan Keating helping him sell over 4 million copies of his debut CD..
Walsh continued his boy band theme and created another Irish boy band called Westlife, he signed his new band to RCA records as he was so impressed with an executive their called Simon Cowell. Westlife went on to repeat and beat the success of Boyzone by having seven number singles from their debut album which is the record for consecutive number one singles.
However all this success in the pop industry was not noticed by the general public until Louis became a judge on the ITV1 show Popstars:The Rivals he then went on to appear on the first season of X Factor along with Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne and the rest as they say is history.
