Shayne Ward

Shayne WardShayne Thomas Ward was the winner of X Factor 2005, he was signed to Sony BMG where Simon Cowell is an executive and Louis Walsh became his manager.  He had previously entered Popstars: The Rivals, the same show which created Girls Aloud and X Factor 2008 judge Cheryl Cole.  He managed to get to the final thirty contestants before getting eliminated.

After winning X Factor 2005 his first single "That's my Goal" was rush released for December 21st and became the Christmas number single for 2005, it sold over 742,000 copies and held onto the number one single for four weeks and managed to stay in the top seventy five until June 2006 becoming the fourth fastest selling single in UK singles history.

He released his debut album, Shayne Ward in April 2006, it went straight in at number one and went on to sell over 520,000 copies in the UK and a further 200,000 worldwide, it reached number one in eight other countries, he released a further three singles from the album with varied success.  He also in 2007 embarked on his first ever solo tour of 18 dates.
